But pro-life groups said there are clinics that can help.
“We have more than 200 pro-life pregnancy resource centers and all those services are free, and their goal is to make women have alternatives to abortion. Our goal is that no woman would seek an abortion because she has no alternatives,” Joe Pojman, executive director of Texas Alliance for Life said Wednesday.

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Hundreds showed up to participate in the 2021 Texas Rally for Life caravan on Saturday, to protest the legality of abortion in the United States.
Some Central Texans joined the line of drivers going around the Texas State Capitol, honking their horns and displaying signs on their vehicles. Others gathered in front of Capitol grounds with signs that read “Abolish Abortion” and “We are the pro-life generation.”

The bill is not popular even among anti-abortion groups. The Texas Alliance for Life says the bill goes against precedent, as the state didn’t prosecute any women for having an abortion before it was legalized. Meanwhile, Texans for Life says it opposes the bill because it punishes women.

“I’ve had a friend whose experienced two abortions,” Joy Yates, a participant of the march, said. “Just to see the devastation over the course of her life from a young woman in her 20’s who had an abortion to now, it has just been heartbreaking to see the loss that she feels.”

“When any woman goes into a doctor’s office, the doctor says congratulations you are pregnant with a baby,” Pojman said. “That is the way doctor’s talk to women who are pregnant and that’s the kind of language the brochure uses, and so we think that’s a strong point.”

The executive director of the Texas Alliance for Life says he’d prefer to see people donate to organizations that provide what he called “compassionate alternatives to abortion.” But the pro-life group has not seen an increase in donors; however, they are looking forward to the upcoming legislative session.
