“No one should have a fear that the 1925 law is any different now than after this law than before the law, with respect to prosecuting women or assisting anyone to have an abortion,” Dr. Joe Pojman, executive director of the Texas Alliance for Life, replied. “It does not change it one iota.”

Texas has a total ban on abortion, starting at conception– the only exemption is if the mother’s life is at risk; so this federal directive is already written into state law.
Texas Alliance for Life spokeswoman, Amy O’Donnell said, “We know that there are some organizations who want to put laws in place that prosecute women who seek abortion; Texas Alliance for Life does not support those laws.”

O’Donnell said everyone deserves a chance at life, even if the diagnosis says otherwise, “we know that sometimes those diagnoses are wrong.”
She added, “It is heartbreaking to think that there are any families out there who abort babies based on a diagnosis that is not even accurate.”
