AUSTIN — Although Planned Parenthood convinced the Hyatt Regency in Austin to cancel a screening of a new movie about convicted abortionist Kermit Gosnell, the screening will nevertheless be held at a new venue at the Texas Capitol building.

The movie, GOSNELL: The Trial of America’s Biggest Serial Killer, which opens in theaters October 12, was to be screened Saturday night in the Hyatt Regency in the Texas capital at the same time Planned Parenthood hosts a $400 a plate gala dinner headlined by Cecile Richards, the organization’s former CEO.

The movie’s producers, however, were told Monday by the hotel the screening was canceled for “security reasons.” The producers told World Net Daily they paid the deposit and signed the contract to reserve the space for the screening. “Everything that was required by the Hyatt was provided and completed as required,” a spokesman said.

In response, host organization Texas Alliance for Life secured the Texas Capitol as the venue for the screening. “We are not deterred,” said Joe Pojman, Ph.D., Texas Alliance for Life’s executive director. “Despite Planned Parenthood’s best efforts, this important film will be screened, and the truth will get out.”

Rated PG-13, the film is the shocking true story of the investigation and trial of Dr. Kermit Gosnell —his 30-year killing spree and the political and media establishment that tried to cover it up. Originally investigated for illegal prescription drug sales, a raid by DEA, FBI, and local law enforcement revealed crimes they could not have expected within the clinic. The evening’s pre-screening will be in the Capitol Auditorium (E1.004) from 5 PM to 7:30 PM, including a Q&A session with cast member Alphoza Rachel who plays Detective Stark. More than 300 people have already made reservations.
