Abbott-promotes-Choose-Life-License-Plate

In July, the Center for Medical Progress began releasing undercover videos showing Planned Parenthood engaging in the sale of baby body parts at some of its abortion facilities in the U.S. One was filmed at the massive Planned Parenthood abortion facility in Houston.

In response, pro-life Gov. Greg Abbott has launched a “LIFE Initiative.” Among the goals are to:

  • Laws changed:

– Partial-birth abortions a felony in Texas.
– Risking a woman’s health by altering a procedure to preserve fetal body parts illegal in Texas.

  • Improve and expand:

– Adoption services in the State of Texas.
– Awareness about Texas child support.

  • Funding for Planned Parenthood? Completely defund it.
  • Eliminate tissue and organ sale by abortion facilities.

Please thank Gov. Abbott for his life-saving LIFE Initiative. A few minutes of your time will make a huge difference. Here are samples. Please use your own words.

Background

Since 2011, the Texas Legislature has defunded Planned Parenthood $30 of $32 million in women’s health funding. Texas Alliance for Life has been instrumental in the success of those efforts. However, they still receive an estimated $2 million per year according to our estimates.

In recent years, Planned Parenthood has closed nine of its 14 abortion facilities in Texas, but five massive facilities remain in Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth, San Antonio, and Houston, where they have been selling baby body parts as recently as 2012.

It is encouraging to see that other state leaders have responded to Planned Parenthood’s scandal. Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick authorized the Senate Health and Human services Committee to investigate Planned Parenthood. The committee held a hearing where Attorney General Ken Paxton testified about his own investigation.

Speaker Joe Straus has called Planned Parenthood’s activities “abhorrent” and pledged to have House committees investigate as well. The Harris County District Attorney is investigating activities at Planned Parenthood’s enormous abortion facility in Houston.
