AUSTIN, TX — Texas Alliance for Life (TAL) today announced that founder and Executive Director Joe Pojman, Ph.D., will conclude his tenure of dedicated service on August 31, 2025, after founding the organization in 1988 and leading it for nearly four decades.

Under the leadership of Dr. Pojman and the Board of Directors, TAL has become one of Texas’ most respected pro-life organizations, playing a pivotal role in shaping public policy and supporting pro-life candidates across the state. Over more than 35 years lobbying at the Texas Capitol, Dr. Pojman was twice ranked among the top 10 lobbyists for causes by Capitol Inside, outranking lobbyists for NARAL Pro-Choice Texas and Planned Parenthood. Under his direction, TAL was instrumental in passing milestone pro-life legislation including the parental notice and consent laws, the Prenatal Protection (personhood) Act, the Sonogram Bill, the Choose Life license plate bill, defunding Planned Parenthood, House Bill 2 (2013), the Human Life Protection Act, protecting unborn lives in Texas from the moment of conception, and the creation and expansion of the State’s program to provide resources for women with unplanned pregnancies.

“It has been the privilege of a lifetime to lead this organization and witness remarkable advancements in protection for unborn babies, their mothers, and other innocent human lives over the past three decades,” said Dr. Joe Pojman. “I remain deeply committed to supporting TAL and am confident the mission will thrive under the leadership and unity of our outstanding board and staff.”

During the transition, Amy O’Donnell will serve as Acting Executive Director, supported by TAL’s seasoned staff and working closely with the organization’s 19-member Board of Directors, composed of prominent leaders from across Texas with deep expertise in policy, advocacy, law, and community leadership.

“This is a moment of both reflection and momentum,” said Joseph Kinlin, J.D., Board President. “Our strong staff and exceptional board ensure that Texas Alliance for Life will continue advancing its pro-life mission with unwavering dedication and impact.”

TAL will honor Dr. Pojman’s legacy at its Annual Benefit Dinner on October 25 at the Hilton Austin, featuring keynote speaker Kirk Cameron.
