Austin, TX — Texas Alliance for Life PAC is proud to endorse Donna Davidson in the Republican Primary Runoff election for justice on the Third Court of Appeals, Place 6. The Third Court of Appeals is considered by many to be one of the most important courts in the state. Donna is a native Texan who has practiced law in Austin for more than 25 years as an ethics advisor and general counsel to elected officials and government agencies. Her public sector service and private practice experience provide Donna with legal and practical grounding in administrative law, and those cases frequently come before the Court. She is staunchly pro-life.
Joe Pojman, Ph.D., executive director of Texas Alliance for Life PAC, had this to say concerning the endorsement: “I have seen firsthand Donna’s unwavering commitment to the pro-life movement. Donna and her husband Greg have been advocates for more than three decades.”
“Donna worked hard in the Texas Senate during the 1999 legislative session to help the Legislature pass parental notification for abortion legislation when she was General Counsel to then-Lieutenant Governor Rick Perry,” he said. “This legislation, a major goal of Texas Alliance for Life, was the first major pro-life law passed in Texas. It served as a foundation to passing parental consent legislation in a later session. Donna has been there every time we need her counsel and expertise.”
Donna has extensive experience in the law and a proven record of supporting pro-life and conservative causes. She worked in the Governor’s General Counsel Office for George W. Bush and Rick Perry as an assistant general counsel and has served as General Counsel for the Republican Party of Texas (RPT). Her legal experience at the highest level of state government provides her with the confidence and analytical skills to tackle complex cases that will come before the Third Court.
Dr. Pojman added: “Donna has the character and judicial temperament necessary to administer the law fairly and impartially as a justice on the Court. She has a commitment to seeing the law administered as passed by the Legislature and will uphold the rule of law. Donna’s real life experiences as a small business owner give her invaluable perspective on how decisions issued by the Court can impact the lives of everyday Texans.”
Dr. Pojman concluded: “But most importantly, Donna’s life and values reflect what TAL stands for. In 2001, when an unwed teenage mother made the courageous choice of life instead of abortion, Donna and Greg opened their homes and hearts and adopted her baby, Mary Grace. Being pro-life is more than just a slogan for the Davidsons; it is their way of life.”
“I’m honored and grateful to have the support of the Texas Alliance for Life,” Davidson said. “Texas must continue to elect truly conservative judges to uphold our Constitution’s original intent and the fundamental rights we hold dear. With the Texas Alliance for Life at my side, I hope to be the Republican nominee for this place on the Court and I humbly ask for your vote on May 22.”
We are asking all of our supporters and donors to support Donna Davidson in the Republican Primary Runoff Election on May 22. Early voting runs from May 14 through May 18, right after Mother’s Day.
