On Friday, May 8, 2026, Texas Alliance for Life hosted its May Leadership Circle Luncheon at Norris Conference Center in Austin. More than 150 supporters and their guests gathered for fellowship, a meal, and a program filled with timely pro-life updates, a powerful message on healing after abortion, and recognition of two beloved members of the TAL community.

President Joseph Kinlin opened the program with a warm welcome, greeting guests and setting the tone for an encouraging afternoon of fellowship, inspiration, and updates on the important work of Texas Alliance for Life.


Board Member Pastor Mark Markham opened the program in prayer, asking for God’s blessing over the meal, the speakers, and all those gathered for the luncheon.


Executive Director Amy O’Donnell shared a wide-ranging update on the state of the pro-life fight four years after Dobbs, addressing the illegal trafficking of chemical abortion drugs into Texas, the federal Comstock Act, the Louisiana v. FDA case, and the importance of the 2026 midterm elections for the pro-life cause.


Julie Ziglar Norman delivered a heartfelt and inspirational message centered on healing after abortion. She shared words of hope, grace, and restoration for those carrying past pain. Through her personal insights and encouragement, she reminded attendees that healing is possible and that no one is beyond the reach of compassion, forgiveness, and support. Her message powerfully reflected the importance of walking alongside women with both truth and love.


Lance Peterson, Director of Financial Development, shared details about the upcoming 32nd Annual Walk for Life, encouraging attendees to participate as walkers, sponsors, and advocates for life. He highlighted the impact the event has in advancing pro-life education, supporting life-affirming efforts across Texas, and bringing communities together in support of protecting innocent human life.


Vice President J.J. Haley shared exciting updates about Texas Alliance for Life’s upcoming Annual Benefit Dinner on October 4, encouraging guests to mark their calendars for an evening dedicated to celebrating life and supporting the organization’s mission. She highlighted the importance of the banquet in bringing together pro-life supporters from across Texas for a night of inspiration, fellowship, and renewed commitment to protecting innocent human life.


Tom McNew concluded the luncheon with a closing prayer, asking for God’s continued guidance and blessing.


Texas Alliance for Life was honored to recognize the Westerman family for their 15 years of faithful volunteer service and dedication to advancing a culture of life across Texas.


The family of Jean Cullen was presented with a memorial plaque by Texas Alliance for Life in appreciation of her faithful volunteerism, dedicated service, and meaningful impact on the pro-life mission throughout Texas. The tribute on the plaque captures her service well: “In honor of Jean Cullen’s longstanding support, whose countless hours of dedicated service to Texas Alliance for Life were fundamental to our efforts of changing hearts and saving lives across Texas and the nation.”
