Joseph Kinlin, J.D.

President

Joseph Kinlin holds a Bachelor’s in Finance and a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Cincinnati. A U.S. Air Force veteran, an assignment brought him to Texas, where he retired after 25 years of service in 2011. He is licensed to practice law in Texas and Ohio. Joseph and his wife, Lisa, have been involved with local pro-life organizations for years. He and his wife also support two local women’s resource centers, and Lisa leads a bible study for women called Surrendering the Secret, which is a study that assists women with spiritual healing from the heartbreak of abortion. Joseph and Lisa live in New Braunfels, and they have three adult children, two of whom are married. They are looking forward to being grandparents in the future.


J.J. Haley

Vice President

J.J. Haley has been passionately pro-life since her early teens. She and her husband, Lee, lead the stewardship ministry team at Shoreline Church in Austin. She has a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas and has worked in the travel industry for 26 years. J.J. and Lee live in Round Rock and have three boys – Noah, Cameron, and Will.

Chris Maska Board Member and Vice President

Christopher Maska, J.D.

General Counsel

Chris Maska, J.D. currently serves as Texas Alliance for Life’s General Counsel. He has been actively involved in the pro-life movement since 1988 when he helped found a pro-life group at the University of Texas School of Law. Chris has been pro-life since Roe. He even attended the first-ever March for Life. In 2015 Chris was presented with the Virtus in Lege award by Bishop Joe Vasquez at the Red Mass. Chris is Board Certified in Administrative Law and is currently the Director of the Division of Hearing & Appeals at the Texas Education Agency. Chris resides in Travis County with his wife Linda and his three children, Veronica, Gregory, and Theresa.

 

 


Karl Locker, CPA

Treasurer

Karl Locker graduated from the University of Notre Dame, and in 1977 he earned his CPA license. His father being in the oil business, Karl spent much of his early life in Midland, Texas, and began his accounting career in the Midland office of a national accounting firm. During his time in Midland, he also worked for an independent oil and gas company with interests in Texas, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia.

As a result of moving to Dallas, Karl began working in commercial real estate, including brokerage and development. After the real estate industry crashed, he worked in litigation support with Jack Friedman and Steve Roulac, dealing with many large, high-profile, and bitterly fought cases. During the recovery, Karl later worked with several REIT IPOs and one of the largest developers of master-planned communities throughout the country.

Karl moved to Austin in 1999 and resumed working with clients, providing accounting and tax services. In 2006, he began an affiliation with RANONE, a global association of accountants and advisors. This enables Karl to provide his clients with the services they need to build long-term value in their businesses.


Kathy Haigler

Secretary

Mrs. Haigler has served for 25 years in pro-life and political communities. She has worked with several pregnancy assistance centers and pro-adoption organizations—recruiting volunteers, raising funds, and organizing events. She was one of the original members of Governor Abbott’s Choose Life Advisory Committee. She and her husband, Glenn, have a special place in their hearts for mothers who choose life for their children; two of their grandchildren were placed for adoption. The Haiglers have 14 grandchildren on Earth, plus 1 in heaven. Mrs. Haigler has long been an advocate and speaker for pro-life policies. She currently serves as the Republican County Chair in Caldwell County.

 


Robin Armstrong Texas Alliance for Life Board Member

Robin Armstrong, M.D.

Board Member

Robin has been engaged in the political process since he was a boy. Robin received a degree in Microbiology from Texas A&M University. He then attended the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, where he received his Doctorate of Medicine. Today he practices medicine in the hospital and community where he was born and raised. Robin has fought for conservative principles as a poll-watcher, an election judge, a precinct chairman; a city chair; a Senatorial District Convention Chair; a delegate to the precinct, senatorial district, and state conventions; and a delegate to the 2008 Republican National Convention. He has served as a member of the State Republican Executive Committee from Senate District 11 and served as Vice Chairman of the Republican Party of Texas from 2006 to 2010. Today, Robin serves as Texas’ Republican National Committeeman. Robin has been married to Dr. Martha Armstrong for 13 years, and they have four sons: Daniel, Gabriel, Joshua, and Noah.

 


Michael Banschbach

Board Member
Michael Banschbach was raised in the Denver, Colorado, area and attended the Colorado School of Mines, graduating in 1980 with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering. He worked for Atlantic Richfield Company for 20 years in the gas processing industry and has been self-employed as a consultant in the energy business since 2000. He and his wife Gayle have eight children and have lived in Midland since 1981. He has headed ProLife Midland since 2002, organizing events such as 40 Days for Life and Life Chain. He has been a sidewalk counselor and a Midland Independent School District SHAC committee member. He travels to several Texas prisons monthly through his church and mails educational materials to offenders throughout Texas. In addition to his board membership for Texas Alliance for Life, he is a board member of St. Michaels Catholic Church, Mexico Energy Corporation, and Live On Stage.

 

 


Jeff Bosworth

Board Member

Jeff and Sheila have been happily married since college and have been blessed with two children, their spouses, and six grandchildren. They have also been foster parents to seven children. Jeff enjoyed a long career as an electrical engineer on NASA programs and then in the semiconductor industry. Since 2007, Jeff has focused his energy on ending abortion through multiple ministries and apostolates by serving as St. Martin de Porres’ Pro-Life and Chaste Living Ministry Coordinator, a Gabriel Project volunteer, Knights of Columbus Pro-Life Advocate, Central Texas Coalition for Life Leadership Team member / 40 Days for Life Day Captain, Relevant Radio Parish Ambassador, and Regional Advisory Council member, Couple to Couple League Natural Family Planning Promotor, and certified lay speaker in the Diocese of Austin.

 

 


Claire Culwell

Board Member

Claire Culwell is a twin abortion survivor. Claire met her birth mother in 2009, who told her about her abortion survival and her twin. Claire was adopted into a loving family and said that finding out she survived an abortion meant to take her life never changed who she knew she was: wanted, chosen, and loved. Claire shares a hopeful message of forgiveness, redemption, and truth, exposing the unborn baby’s humanity and how abortion hurts women.

​She is an internationally known pro-life speaker and soon-to-be author. She has been featured on Fox News, Focus On The Family, and many other media outlets. Claire lives in Lindale, TX, with her family.

 


Debbie Juhlke

Board Member

Debbie attained her nursing degree from the East Texas School of Nursing. She practiced as a Registered Nurse for several years before attending Central Texas Technical College to obtain a Bachelor of Science in Social Work. Debbie served the State of Texas as a Family Support Specialist/Social Worker and an Adult Protective Services Specialist.

Debbie calls Round Rock, TX home. She is actively involved in various religious, social, and civic organizations, such as Civitan International, Round Rock Area Service Center, Pflugerville Pregnancy Resource Center, R.R. Police Foundation, Past Director for RCIA, and R.R. Chamber Ambassador.

Debbie is the founder and CEO of Embrace Life Initiative, a non-profit organization that aims to Educate, Mobilize, Support, and Empower families of color. Since 2014, EMBRACE Life Initiative has offered real solutions to families facing unexpected life challenges by turning the “unplanned into a loving plan.” Debbie brings awareness to the services of Embrace Life Initiative by closely collaborating with other Pregnancy Resource Centers, Adoption Agencies, and clergy members throughout the greater Austin community. Debbie’s dream is to share the availability of life’s affirming choices with expecting mothers and fathers.

One of Debbie’s mantras in life is, “To whom much is given, much is required!” The value of family and the teaching of giving back to the community are paramount to Debbie. She and her husband, Dr. Timothy Juhlke, Ph.D., have been married for over twenty-six years. They have three adult children raised on the premise of giving themselves to both the community and the church. In 2018, Debbie and Tim’s family grew as they became ‘forever parents’ of four young siblings.


Chrissie Keffler

Board Member

A housewife, a mom, and a writer, Chrissie co-authored Garden of Virtues: Planting Seeds of Goodness with two other moms from the Dallas area. She frequently speaks to groups about teaching virtues to children.

 

 


Ronda Moreland

Board Member

Ronda Kay Moreland is very involved in community, state, and national issues. Her concern about the future and its effects on her family, business, and community drives her to serve on various Boards, Associations, & Steering Committees. Ronda’s commitment to principle and passion for serving others has established her as a woman to go to when you want to get things done and find solutions. She is the Executive Producer for the Mark Davis Show on 660am The Answer in the DFW Market. Ronda’s life motto is to “Serve God through Serving Others,” and she strives to live this daily.

Jim Shaw Board Member and treasurer

Jim Shaw, D.C.

Board Member

Jim Shaw holds a Bachelor’s degree from Southwestern University in Georgetown and a Doctor of Chiropractic from Parker College in Dallas. He has practiced in Austin since 1995, specializing in injuries, rehab, and nutrition. Dr. Shaw currently heads American Chiropractic Education, a company dedicated to providing cutting-edge seminars, training, and information to chiropractors across the U.S. His company offers advanced certification in Functional Nutrition. Dr. Shaw has educated over 1200 Chiropractors in his training classes. He has been a featured speaker at the Texas Chiropractic Association Annual Meeting. Interested in the direction of Travis County, he ran for County Commissioner in 1998. He later joined the Texas Alliance for Life Board of Directors to further the cause of Life. He lives in Round Rock with his wife of 31 years, Shannon. He and Shannon have six children and four grandchildren. Jim and Shannon adopted two of their children through their work in foster care.

 


Robin Steele

Board Member

Robin Steele graduated from Texas State University in San Marcos, TX, in 1998 with a BBA in Marketing. Three weeks later, he married Erica Crocker. In 2001, he worked as a Children’s Pastor at his home church. In 2003, with the assistance of Kenneth Phillips, Robin, and 30 others started PromiseLand San Marcos Church. Today, it has grown into a thriving community of over 1500 believers. Robin is passionate about bridging the gap between people and Jesus. He is also passionate about helping other pastors. Robin and Erica have three children: Kennady, Jude, and Avery. Their daughter, Kennady, was born with a condition called Alobar Holoprosencephaly (HPE) which resulted in severe special needs. Her condition is an inspiration to people all over the world. In 2020, he released his first book centered around Kennady’s story titled: “How To Be Made Whole.”

Davida Stike has been an active board member since 2000. She served as President from 2005 to 2020. She also directs the Texas Alliance for Life Political Action Committee and the Texas Alliance for Life Federal Political Action Committee. Davida lives with her husband, Walt, in Huntsville, TX, and has four adult children.

 

 


Terry Williams

Board Member

Terry Williams has been involved in pro-life ministry for almost 30 years in various ways, including Director and Presenter of a successful sexual risk avoidance program and Executive Director of a Care Net Pregnancy Center in Texas. Terry currently serves as a Care Net Center Services Specialist and is qualified to train and consult Boards, Volunteers, and Staff in pregnancy center work and ministry for pregnancy centers across the U.S. Terry frequently speaks at Banquets, Women’s Events and provides testimony to Legislators in Texas. Terry serves on the Public Policy Committee as a Texas Alliance for Life Board member. In this role, Terry has been instrumental in building a culture of life by helping pass some of the strongest anti-abortion laws in the nation. Terry lives on a ranch in Texas with her husband, Mark.
