The 2017 Annual Benefit Dinner, on October 5, 2017 was a tremendous success.  We had the pleasure of spending an evening with more than 1,300 pro-life leaders, partners, advocates, and supporters from across Texas. We had numerous elected officials present to share the message of hope and the celebration of life that evening.

The evening kicked off with the Austin’s own City Councilwoman Ellen Troxcliar as our evening’s Master of Ceremonies.  A very special thank you to her for leading the evening.

Nationally renowned and respected,  Rev. Francis J. Hoffman, otherwise known as “Father Rocky,” set the tone for the evening with a blessing and words of encouragement for the audience and all the hundreds sharing the evening via livestream.

Thank you to all our contributors and table hosts for helping to make this a true celebration of life!

Keynote Ann McElhinney

Our featured speaker was the award-winning author, journalist, and movie producer Ann McElhinney.  She spoke to the massive crowd about the tragic, yet eye-opening, case of Dr. Kermit Gosnell.

During her keynote, the audience was captivated.  She drove the point home that when governments and officials turn a blind-eye, tragedy follows.  Yet, in Texas, our elected officials and leaders in the Texas Legislature help to ensure that life is celebrated and protected to ensure that a case like that of Dr. Kermit Gosnell are never allowed to happen in Texas.

She pointed to Texas Alliance for Life and our continued efforts to raise awareness and ensure that laws continue to protect the unborn.

Elected Officials Introductions

With more than 1,300 pro-life supporters joining us at TAL’s largest event of the year. Dozens of pro-life elected officials and candidates were also in attendance to celebrate life.

Special Guests: Senator Donna Campbell and State Representative Cindy Burkett

Kicking off Texas Alliance for Life’s statewide presentation of our prestigious “Courageous Defense of Life” awards, we were honored to have Senator Campbell and Representative Burkett on hand to be the first recipients of the award for their strong pro-life legislation during the most recent legislative session.
