Texas Alliance for Life (TAL) is a statewide, nonpartisan, nonprofit organization based in Austin. TAL is committed to protecting innocent human life from conception through natural death using peaceful, legal means. The purpose of this position is to work with the Executive Director and the Financial Development Committee to develop, manage, and direct TAL’s fundraising programs.

Essential job functions include:

• Manage and direct TAL’s fundraising events, including the annual fall dinner and the walk-a-thons.
• Assist with mail and telemarketing solicitation programs.
• Develop and manage TAL's major gifts solicitation program.
• Develop and manage TAL's church outreach program.
• Develop funding sources including workplace giving and foundation grants.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; prefer degree in Political Science, Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or other related field.
• Two years experience in successful fund raising.
• Strong communication skills in writing, editing, public speaking with fund raising content.
• Strong creative approach to projects.
• Strong problem solving skills.
• Highly skilled in working and communicating effectively with people and managing volunteers.
• Skill in managing a budget.
• Experience managing multiple projects.
• Working knowledge of political and legislative processes, especially the Texas Legislature.
• Attention to detail.
• Commitment to providing quality customer service.
• Ability to work independently as a self-starter and as an effective team member.
• Ability to work well under tight deadlines.
• Ability to create materials for multiple audiences.
• Available to work evenings and weekends.

• MS Word and Excel in a Windows environment.
• PowerPoint.
• Basic graphical design
• Database
• Basic web design and html.

• Bilingual in Spanish.
